Red oncom and black oncom are West Java traditional fermente food products. These are fermentation products by mold named neurospora sitophila dan rhizopus oligosporus. Both species of mold are visually exotic when viewed under a microscope. The lines in neurospora sitophila look like decorative background in a motif. Tendrils-like sporangiophore and flower-like sporangium in rhizopus oligosporus are similar to elements usually found in ornament. Applying these two microorganisms to elements of batik is an effort to create something new that can enrich the treasury of Indramayu batik motifs. Indramayu batik motif style is used as a rhythmic stylization medium because it is more dynamic and open to foreign influence than batik motifs from other regions.
