WAYANG TAVIP: MEMBANGUN POTENSI ANAK

Today parents prefer taking their children to malls or other recreational places to teaching their children to make creative games. Parents let their children to sit in front of television watching films and other television series that may not be appropriate for their age; sit for hours playing PlayStation or watching foreign cartoons that gradually instill their characters in children. This phenomenon inspired the artist to make a children’s theater show of Wayang Tavip entitled “Rebuild Children’s Potencies”. The work is the artist’s response to reveal the sense of compassion and happiness expressed through puppetry. The research results give benefits to the development of puppet shapes produced from children’s creativity as media of playing and learning. It is a new offer of promoting puppetry as means of entertaining and educating children for community in West Java in general, and Bandung Regency in specific. The work enriches the treasury of children’s theater in Indonesia, specifically in West Java; gives a new offer for young artists in West Java; and serves as a documentation of concern for children.

Fenomena yang terjadi di kalangan orang tua lebih memilih ruang bermain untuk anak-anaknya ke mall-mall atau tempat rekreasi yang serba instant, dari pada mengajarkan anaknya membuat permainan yang kreatif.Anak dimanjakan di depan media televisi menonton film, telenovela, sinetron yang belum pantas untuk ditonton, atau duduk berjam-jam bermain Playstations, nonton film kartun produk import yang lama kelamaan akan tertanam di benak anak-anak dan menjadi tokoh idolanya. Fenomena inilah yang mengilhami pengkarya untuk menciptakan sebuah karya pertunjukan teater anak-anak Wayang Tavip “Membangun Kembali Potensi pada Anak-anak”. Karya ini merupan respon pengkarya untuk mengungkapkan tentang rasa kepedulian dan kegembiraan, yang akan diungkapkan dalam media wayang. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan manfaat bagi perkembangan, penciptaan bentuk-bentuk wayang yang dihasilkan dari kreativitas anak-anak yang digunakan sebagai sarana bermain dan pendidikan. Sebagai tawaran baru kepada masyarakat yang ada di Jawa Barat pada umumnya, dan di Kabupaten Bandung pada khususnya, untuk mengembangkan seni pewayangan sebagai sarana hiburan dan pendidikan bagi anak-anak. Karya ini juga menambah khasanah teater anak-anak baru di Indonesia khususnya Jawa Barat, menjadi sarana apresiasi dan pembelajaran dalam kerangka perkembangan (inovasi) budaya, memberikan sebuah tawaran baru kepada seniman-seniman muda di Jawa Barat dan sebagai dokumentasi rasa kepedulian terhadap anak-anak.
