DESAIN CALONGCONG SEBAGAI UPAYA PELESTARIAN BUDAYA KERAJINAN TRADISIONAL

Calongcong is one form of traditional craft owned by the people of Bolang Village, Cibuluh Village, Tanjungsiang Sub-District, Subang Regency, which is made from the main material of bamboo woven in an animal-like shape. This Calongcong craft is used as a toy tool for traditional Calongcong games that are usually felt when the village is clean or called “Ngamunikeun Lembur”. An explanation of “Ngamunikeun Lembur” is found in the text “Siksa Kanda Ng Karesian”. This study used a qualitative approach with experimental methods that aimed to provide a description of the Calongcong design as an effort to preserve the culture of traditional crafts.

Calongcong merupakan salah satu bentuk kerajinan tradisional yang dimiliki oleh masyarakat Kampung Bolang Desa Cibuluh Kecamatan Tanjungsiang Kabupaten Subang yang terbuat dari material utama bambu yang dianyam dengan bentuk menyerupai binatang. Kerajinan Calongcong ini dijadikan sebagai alat mainan bagi permainan tradisional Calongcong yang biasanya diasakan ketika kegiatan bersih desa atau yang disebut dengan Ngamunikeun Lembur. Penjelasan tentang Ngamunikeun Lembur terdapat dalam naskah Siksa Kanda Ng Karesian. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode eksperimen yang bertujuan untuk memberikan deskripsi tentang desain Calongcong sebagai upaya pelestarian budaya kerajinan tradisional.
