They serve as a medium to depict social realities through storytelling and visual art. One of Korean dramas that reflects the social realities of Korea is Pachinko, set in the 1930s when patriarchal culture and the low status of women were still prevalent. The purpose of this study is to explore how the representation of alpha woman is depicted in Pachinko. The study adopts a qualitative approach, utilizing Roland Barthes’ semiotic analysis method to interpret the signs within the drama through three levels of analysis: denotation, connotation, and myth. The researcher selected three episodes from the eight-episode series (episodes 3, 4, and 5) for a detailed analysis of scenes referencing alpha woman characteristics. The findings of this research reveal various ways in which Pachinko portrays alpha woman. The study highlights the courage, independence, and resilience of woman characters. This research recommends that future Korean dramas continue to feature alpha women characters to inspire gender equality. Additionally, future studies could explore similar representations in different cultural contexts to provide comparative analyses, enriching the understanding of gender representation across cultures.
Afrina Nabila Azhari, Herlina Agustin, Samson CMS Copyright (c) 2025 https://jurnal.isbi.ac.id/index.php/pantun/article/view/3921 Thu, 26 Jun 2025 00:00:00 +0700 Transformation of the Seven Seas Characters from The Little Mermaid into Carnival Costume Design https://jurnal.isbi.ac.id/index.php/pantun/article/view/4182
This costume design project aims to present an imaginative visual interpretation of the Seven Seas characters from The Little Mermaid, while highlighting the potential of fantasy narratives as a source of inspiration in costume design development. The primary inspiration is drawn from the book The Little Mermaid: Guide to Merfolk, which details the unique characteristics of each character and the seas they originate from. Carnival costumes were chosen as the medium of expression due to their fusion of aesthetic, cultural, and imaginative elements. The main issue addressed in this study is how to interpret the Seven Seas characters into costume designs that can effectively represent both the visual identity and narrative value of each character through the adaptation of diverse elements such as color, texture, and silhouette. The creative method refers to the concept by S.P. Gustami, which comprises three stages: (1) exploration, involving literature review and character analysis; (2) design development, which includes ideation and sketch creation; and (3) realization, presented in the form of visual costume design renderings. The outcome of this design process consists of seven carnival costume designs that visually and narratively represent the Seven Seas characters. This work is expected to contribute to the development of fantasy-based costume design and serve as a reference for future conceptual fashion design projects.

Dinda Julia Maudy Suryalina, Naufal Arafah, M. The research was conducted using qualitative methods with an action research approach based on the Lin S. Norton model. The techniques used include observation, interviews, literature study, as well as five research steps: identifying problems, solutions, implementation, evaluation, and modification. Data analysis was carried out using an organological approach (Sue Carole DeVale) and concentration theory (Santrock), with data validation through the ITDEM model which involves triangulation and data reduction. The research results show that the use of Rahaidi bamboo musical instruments can increase four types of attention, namely Selective Attention, Sustained Attention, Executive Attention, and Divided Attention. The process is divided into three stages: beginner, intermediate, and advanced, including assessment, design, therapy implementation, recording, and evaluation. This research proves that there is a significant increase in all aspects of attention in adult individuals with autism after therapy using Rahaidi bamboo music. These results confirm that a tailored approach using musical instruments can be an effective therapeutic tool in supporting the development of concentration in adults with autism.
Fahdi Hasan, Arthur S. One significant global phenomenon is the Korean Wave, including the popularity of Korean dramas among Indonesians. Korean dramas are more than just entertainment, they have the potential to influence the cultural identity orientation of the younger generation who are the main consumers. With this, the main focus of the research is to analyze how the impact Korean dramas have on changes in cultural preferences among the younger generation of Indonesia. This research uses an interview method with a qualitative approach. This research involved 5 informants with the criteria of Indonesian young generation aged 18-19 years who actively consume Korean dramas. The results showed that the flow of Korean culture through Korean dramas has the potential to influence the orientation of the cultural identity of the Indonesian people, but the sense of pride and dominance of Indonesian culture still has the potential to be maintained and developed. The contribution of this research lies in its understanding of the interaction between the Korean Wave and the formation of cultural identity among Indonesia's younger generation. The findings show that despite the strong influence of foreign cultures, the younger generation still demonstrates cultural resilience. In addition, this research opens up strategic opportunities for the revitalization of local culture through a more creative and relevant approach to popular media that appeals to young people's tastes.
Mira Aulia Afifah, Firman Aziz, Ryan Ferdiana, Fatimah Azzahra NF, Ronald Yehezkiel Sitompul, Rizqya Aufa Nuraini Copyright (c) 2025 https://jurnal.isbi.ac.id/index.php/pantun/article/view/3891 Thu, 26 Jun 2025 00:00:00 +0700 Creativity in noise: Transforming urban elements into innovative music in POSUA https://jurnal.isbi.ac.id/index.php/pantun/article/view/3925
This article examines the influence of urbanization and industrialization on musical expression, with a focus on the role of urban noise as a creative element.
