PENGGUNAAN PRODUK RUMAH TANGGA BERUPA OBAT KELANTANG SEBAGAI BAHAN UTAMA PEMBUATAN MOTIF PADA TEKSTIL DENGAN TEKNIK IKAT CELUP

Abstract

Ikat dye is one of the background design techniques that has been around for a long time and is widely known not only in Indonesia but almost all over the world. This technique has great potential in the creative industry that demands innovation and creation in every product development. These creative industry players are required to be able to keep up with the times and technology and be able to understand the latest global issues. This condition provides good potential to be able to develop a technique and product, one of which is tie dye. This potential is what the author wants to exploit to create textile motif innovations through the development of various basic tie-dying techniques using materials that are easily found at home, one of which is bleach. This research will produce an alternative variety of basic dyeing techniques to produce optimal motifs on textile materials that can be applied to fashion products by students to designers for their product development.

Ikat celup merupakan salah satu teknik reka latar yang sudah lama ada dan dikenal cukup luas tidak hanya di Indonesia tetapi hampir di seluruh dunia. Teknik ini memliki potensi yang besar dalam bidang industri kreatif yang menuntut inovasi dan kreasi dalam setiap pengembangan produk. Para pelaku industri kreatif ini dituntut untuk dapat mengikuti perkembangan zaman dan teknologi serta mampu memahami isu global terkini. Kondisi ini memberikan potensi yang baik untuk dapat mengembangkan suatu teknik dan produk, salah satunya adalah ikat celup. Potensi ini yang hendak dimanfaatkan oleh penulis untuk menciptakan inovasi motif tekstil melalui pengembangan beragam teknik dasar ikat celup dengan menggunakan bahan yang mudah ditemukan di rumah salah satunya obat kelantang. Penelitian ini akan menghasilkan suatu alternatif ragam teknik ikat celup dasar untuk menghasilkan motif yang optimal pada material tekstil yang dapat diaplikasikan pada produk fashion oleh mahasiswa hingga desainer untuk pengembangan produk mereka.
