Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis teknik permainan gitar elektrik Mateus Asato pada lagu How Deep Is Your Love. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif, dengan penulis sebagai instrumen utama, serta didukung oleh instrumen pendukung seperti gitar elektrik, laptop, sibelius dan youtube. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi langsung terhadap video Mateus Asato yang tersedia di youtube dan studi dokumen berupa partitur dan rekaman video Mateus Asato saat memainkan lagu How Deep Is Your Love.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Mateus Asato menggunakan beragam teknik permainan gitar elektrik yang khas, seperti hybrid picking, slide, bending, vibrato, legato, hammer-on dan pull-off, chord melody, palm muting dan artificial harmonics, serta penggunaan dinamika dan ekspresi yang tinggi. Teknik-teknik tersebut membentuk karakter permainan yang emosional dan musikal, serta menunjukkan tingkat keterampilan teknis dan interpretatif yang tinggi. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi referensi bagi gitaris dalam memperkaya teknik bermain serta memahami pendekatan artistik dalam interpretasi lagu.
