Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement
LAYAR: Jurnal Ilmiah Seni Media Rekam (E-ISSN: 2828-5379) (P-ISSN: 2407-7992) is a peer-reviewed electronic journal. This statement clarifies the ethical behavior of all parties involved in the act of publishing an article in this journal, including the author, the chief editor, the Editorial Board, the peer-reviewer, and the publisher. This statement is based on LIPI head regulation no 5 of 2014.
Refers to LIPI Head Regulation no. 5 years 2014, Regarding the code of ethics for scientific publications, this statement of ethics for scientific publications is a code of ethics for all parties involved in the scientific journal publication process, namely managers, editors, review partners and authors. This code of ethics for scientific publications upholds three ethical values in publications, namely:
1. Neutrality: free from conflict of interest in publication management.
2. Justice: giving authorship rights to those entitled to be authors.
3. Honesty: free from duplication, fabrication, falsification, plagiarism.
Ethical Guideline for Journal Publication
The publication of an article in a peer-reviewed LAYAR: Jurnal Ilmiah Seni Media Rekam journal is an essential building block in the development of a coherent and respected network of knowledge. It is a direct reflection of the quality of the work of the authors and the institutions that support them. Peer-reviewed articles support and embody the scientific method. It is therefore important to agree upon standards of expected ethical behavior for all parties involved in the act of publishing: the author, the journal editor, the peer reviewer, the publisher, and the society.
Television and Film Studies Program, ISBI Bandung as the publisher of LAYAR: Jurnal Ilmiah Seni Media Rekam journal takes its duties of guardianship over all stages of publishing extremely seriously and we recognize our ethical and other responsibilities. We are committed to ensuring that advertising, reprint or other commercial revenue has no impact or influence on editorial decisions. In addition, the Television and Film Studies Program, ISBI Bandung and Editorial Board will assist in communications with other journals and/or publishers where this is useful and necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities of Journal Manager
1. Determine the name of the journal, scientific scope, periodicity, and accreditation if necessary.
2. Determine the membership of the editorial board.
3. Defines the relationship between publishers, editors, publishers and other parties in a contract.
4. Respect matters of a confidential nature, both for contributing researchers, authors/authors, editors and bestari partners.
5. Implement norms and provisions regarding intellectual property rights, especially copyright.
6. Review journal policies and convey them to the author/writers, editorial board, bestari partners, and readers.
7. Create behavioral code guidelines for editors and mitra bestari.
8. Publish journals regularly.
9. Ensure the availability of funding sources for the sustainability of journal publication.
10. Building cooperation and marketing networks.
11. Prepare permits and other legal aspects.
Editor's Duties and Responsibilities
1. Meeting the needs of readers and authors/writers,
2. Striving to continuously improve the quality of publications,
3. Implement processes to ensure the quality of published written work,
4. Prioritize freedom of opinion objectively,
5. Maintain the integrity of the author's academic track record,
6. Deliver corrections, clarifications, withdrawals and apologies if necessary,
7. Responsible for the style and format of the written work, while the content and all statements in the written work are the responsibility of the author/writer,
8. Actively solicit the opinions of authors, readers, bestari partners, and editorial board members to improve the quality of publications,
9. Encourage an assessment of the journal if there are findings,
10. Support initiatives to reduce research and publication errors by asking authors to attach an Ethical Clearance form that has been approved by the Ethical Clearance Commission,
11. Support initiatives to educate researchers about publication ethics,
12. Examining the effect of publication policies on the attitudes of authors/writers and bestari partners and improving them to increase responsibility and minimize errors,
13. Having an open mind to new opinions or other people's views that may conflict with personal opinions,
14. Do not defend your own opinion, that of the author or a third party which could result in a non-objective decision,
15. Encourage authors/authors to improve their written work until it is suitable for publication.
Duties and Responsibilities Peer-Reviewer
1. Receive an assignment from the editor to review written work and submit the results of the review to the editor, as material for determining the suitability of a written work for publication.
2. Reviewers may not carry out reviews of written works that involve themselves, either directly or indirectly
3. Maintain the author's privacy by not disseminating the results of corrections, suggestions and recommendations by providing criticism, suggestions, input and recommendations
4. Encourage authors/writers to make improvements to written work
5. Review written work that has been corrected according to predetermined standards.
6. Written works are reviewed in a timely manner according to the style of the publication environment based on scientific principles (data collection methods, legality of authors, conclusions, etc.).
Author/Writer Duties and Responsibilities
1. Ensure that those included in the list of authors/authors meet the criteria as authors/writers.
2. Collectively responsible for the work and content of the article including methods, analysis, calculations and details.
3. State the origin of resources (including funding), either directly or indirectly.
4. Explain the limitations in the research
5. Responding to comments made by para mitra bestari professionally and on time.
6. Inform the editor if you will withdraw your written work.
7. Make a statement that the written work submitted for publication is original, has never been published anywhere in any language, and is not in the process of being submitted to another publisher.
