Publication Ethic Statement
Panggung Jurnal Seni Budaya is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and follows the guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The journal ensures that all parties involved in the publication process – authors, editors, reviewers, and publishers – adhere to ethical standards in their conduct.
1. Ethical Guidelines for Authors
-
Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their submitted manuscripts are original, and all sources of data, ideas, or text from other works must be properly cited. Plagiarism in any form will not be tolerated and will lead to immediate rejection of the manuscript.
-
Data Integrity: Authors must provide accurate and truthful data. Falsification or manipulation of data is strictly prohibited.
-
Multiple Submissions: Authors should not submit manuscripts that are under consideration or have been published elsewhere. Authors must disclose any prior or simultaneous submission of the manuscript.
-
Authorship: All individuals who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the research should be listed as authors. The corresponding author must ensure that all co-authors approve the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission.
-
Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the research or its interpretation. This includes financial support, affiliations, or other relationships that could be seen as influencing the results.
2. Ethical Guidelines for Editors
-
Editorial Independence: Editors are responsible for making publication decisions based on the content of the manuscripts, the quality of the research, and its relevance to the scope of the journal. Decisions should be made independently of any external influences.
-
Confidentiality: Editors must treat all submitted manuscripts and their content as confidential. They should not disclose any information about manuscripts to anyone other than the reviewers, and should take precautions to prevent unauthorized access to submission materials.
-
Fairness and Impartiality: Editors should assess manuscripts solely based on their intellectual content, without regard to the authors' race, gender, nationality, or institutional affiliation. All submissions should be evaluated objectively and without bias.
-
Conflict of Interest: Editors must avoid situations where their personal or professional interests could affect their judgment. Any potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed.
3. Ethical Guidelines for Reviewers
-
Confidentiality: Reviewers must treat manuscripts as confidential documents. They should not disclose any details of the manuscript or discuss it with others unless authorized by the editor.
-
Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Reviewers should provide clear, constructive feedback based on the content of the manuscript.
-
Timeliness: Reviewers should complete their reviews promptly. If they are unable to review a manuscript within the specified time frame, they should inform the editor and recuse themselves from the review process.
-
Conflicts of Interest: Reviewers must declare any potential conflicts of interest before agreeing to review a manuscript. They should not review manuscripts that they have a direct conflict with, such as professional or financial relationships with the authors.
4. Ethical Guidelines for Publishers
-
Transparency: The publisher is responsible for ensuring transparency in the journal's editorial and publication processes. Any changes in editorial policy or publication standards should be communicated clearly to authors, editors, and reviewers.
-
Support for Ethical Practices: The publisher should support editors and reviewers in upholding ethical standards, including providing them with training and resources to deal with ethical issues related to manuscript submission and peer review.
-
Corrections and Retractions: If an error is discovered in a published paper, the publisher must act promptly to correct it. If necessary, the paper will be retracted, and appropriate corrections will be made to the online record.
-
Adherence to COPE: The publisher follows the COPE guidelines for dealing with publication ethics issues such as plagiarism, data falsification, and conflicts of interest. Any suspected ethical violations will be investigated thoroughly and transparently.
