Plagiarism Policy

Panggung Journal is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and publication ethics. All manuscripts submitted to the journal must be original works and must not have been published or be under consideration for publication elsewhere. Any form of plagiarism is considered unethical and unacceptable.

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

  • Copying text, ideas, data, images, or figures from other sources without proper citation

  • Paraphrasing substantial parts of another work without appropriate acknowledgment

  • Self-plagiarism, including reuse of one’s own previously published work without proper citation or justification

  • Duplicate or redundant publication

  • Citation manipulation or unethical referencing practices

Plagiarism Screening

All submitted manuscripts are screened using internationally recognized plagiarism detection software such as Advacheck.

The similarity requirements are as follows:

  • Maximum overall similarity index: 25%

  • Maximum similarity from a single source: 5%

References, properly quoted material, and commonly used methodological descriptions are excluded from similarity assessment.

Editorial Actions

If plagiarism is identified, the editorial board will take the following actions:

  • Minor similarity: Authors will be requested to revise the manuscript and improve citations or paraphrasing.

  • Moderate to high similarity: The manuscript will be rejected.

  • Severe or intentional plagiarism: The manuscript will be rejected and further sanctions may be applied, including a submission ban for a certain period and notification to the author’s affiliated institution, if necessary.

Author Responsibilities

Authors are fully responsible for the originality of their submitted manuscripts. They must ensure that:

  • All sources are properly cited

  • The manuscript is free from plagiarism and redundant publication

  • Ethical standards in scholarly writing are strictly followed

This plagiarism policy follows the guidelines and best practices of:

  • Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE)

  • International standards of scholarly publishing ethics
