Panggung in this edition brings the theme Konstruksi Identitas Budaya dalam Seni dan Sastra (the construction of cultural identity in arts and literature). The edition contains seven articles with different issues in art and culture including traditional theatre, dance, music, fashion design, literature, and organology. In the area of theatre, Taslim et al. discuss the construction of the body as a political construction in the work of Tony Broer entitled Tu(m)buh. Meanwhile, Sulaiman et al. explain their artwork creation of the traditional opera in Batak, Opera Sisimangarja XII in order to preserve it. In the music area, Ediwar et al.bring about the making of a traditional instrument of Minangkabau called saluang darek based on traditional technology. Further, Syafniati et al. examine the development the traditional singing, salawat dulang, in Minangkabau. Adji and Denissa share the similar issue of popular culture yet in a different area. Denissa brings about an academic fashion which contributes to a different perspective in popular culture, while Adji analyses shifts and changes in the construction of culture among the youth as recorded in popular novels in the 2000s. All those papers bring together traditional values into a new context and new meanings in current issues.
