In the last edition of Panggung in 2019, the journal brings the theme Keragaman Seni dan Inovasi Estetik (Art Diversity and Aesthetics Innovation). This theme refers to various issues in the seven articles published. Bahrudin et al. deliberate innovation in techniques of producing wood crafts, because of scarcity in wood materials caused by forest crises. Meanwhile, Guntur discusses the innovation inthe parang motive of traditional Javanese batik.Some writers discuss innovations in dance. First, Ramlan and Jaja describe innovation in a traditional Sundanese dance calledthe rdg bojong dance, which was created by a renowned Sundanese dance innovator, Gugum Gumbira.
Meanwhile, Maryono explores particular values and expressionsin the srimpi anglir mendhung dance by using the concept of verdictive speech acts.Another form of innovation in a dance discussed by Rachmawati and Prihartini which explore the new form ofLentera Jawa II Dolalak Dance composed by Melania Sinaring.In different focus, Suherti and Sudarsono argue the musical aesthetic of the Rincik-rincik song, which combines Sundanese and Java musical instruments (Banyumasan), found in a traditional dance, ronggeng tayub. In the music area, Syamsul Rizal discussesthe structure of Rampak Bedug Ciwasiat percussion patterns in Padeglang Banten through Levi-Strauss structuralism theory. Those articles contribute to the area of innovations in art, either in aesthetic aspect, forms or values.
